City of Polk City Council Minutes Special Meeting December 27, 2007 The City Council of the City of Polk City met in special session on December 27, 2007 at City Hall in Polk City, Iowa. Present were Tim Rhoades, Rosemary Taylor, Robert Mordini, Dan Lane and Ron Anderson. Also present were Administrator Gary Mahannah. Mayor Heuertz called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Motion was made by Taylor to accept the agenda as presented, second by Rhoades. Motion was approved vocally and unanimously. Motion was made by Mordini to approve the Consent Agenda as presented, second by Taylor. Motion was approved unanimously by roll call. A. Approval Claims dated 12/27/07 B. Approval of Council Minutes dated 12/10/07 C. Accept resignation of Jeremy St. Pierre from the Fire Department The following people were sworn into office by taking and subscribing to the required oath. The Mayor swore in City Clerk Sharon Nickles and Police Chief Mark Bowersox. The City Clerk administered the oath of office to newly elected council members Tim Rhoades, David Dvorak and Ron Anderson. Also sworn in were Administrator Gary Mahannah and Fire Chief Jason Morse. Motion was made by Mordini to set a budget workshop for January 15, 2008 at 6:00 p.m., second by Rhoades. Motion was approved unanimously by roll call. Motion was made by Anderson to adjourn the meeting at 6:10 p.m., second by Lane. Motion was approved vocally and unanimously.
