Parks Commission Regular Meeting July 2, 2007 Minutes The Park Commission for the City of Polk City met in regular session at Miller Park Shelter House in Polk City, Iowa. Present were, Bob Fourez, David Hiatt, and Council Liaison Rosemary Taylor. Chairman Pro-tem Fourez called the meeting to order at 6:40pm. Due to the commission not having a quorum the commission could take no actions. City Engineering Representative Kathleen Connor and Landscape Architect Curt Engelhardt from Snyder and Associates reported to the commission on the status of a Master Park Plan for the City. They explained that they would be holding town meetings hopefully to begin in September, to see what the community would like to see in future parks and trails. The commission also discussed the proposed Request for Use of City Square form. The Commission asked that it be on August agenda. Kelly Fourez reported to the commission that the soccer league is need of more field space. Council Liaison Taylor reported that she would pass the information on to the council. The Deputy City Clerk reported to the commission that the scoreboard at the Sports Complex are completed and have been tested, and that final dirt work will be completed this fall. The new ball field and adult field infields to be resurfaced early this fall by the North Polk football team. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45pm Charlotte Loter Deputy City Clerk |
