Planning and Zoning Commission

Regular Meeting

February 18, 2008

The Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Polk City met in regular session on February 18, 2008 at City Hall in Polk City, Iowa. Present were Ron Hankins, Bill Kliegl, Paul Swenson, Shane Torres, Dennis Dietz, Doug Sires, and Neal Hawkins. Also present were City Council Liaison Ron Anderson, and Engineering Representative Kathleen Connor. Chairman Swenson called the meeting to order at 6:00pm.

Motion was made by Dietz to approve the minutes of January 21, 2008, second by Hankins, with the commission voting as follows Torres, yes; Hankins, yes; Swenson, yes; Dietz, yes; Sires, yes; with Hawkins and Kliegl abstaining.

No audience.

The Commission discussed the setting of a public hearing on Voluntary Annexation. Upon on motion by Hankins, second by Hawkins the commission voted vocally and unanimously to the set March 17, 2008 to hold a public hearing on voluntary annexation.

Engineering Representative Connor informed the commission she would be sending them a copy of the final revisions to the Agricultural zoning, so that they will be able to review it before the next planning and zoning meeting.

No Commission Report.

Upon a motion by Hankins, second by Kliegl the commission voted vocally and unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 6:20.
