Planning and Zoning Commission Regular Meeting November 19, 2007 The Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Polk City met in regular session on November 19, 2007 at City Hall in Polk City, Iowa. Present were Dennis Dietz, Neal Hawkins, Ron Hankins, Shane Torres, Bill Kliegl, and Doug Sires. Also present were Administrator Gary Mahannah, Engineering Representative Kathleen Connor and Council Liaison Ron Anderson. Chairman Hankins called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Chairman Hankins welcomed Shane Torres to the commission. Motion was made by Dietz to approve the minutes of October 15, 2007, second by Kliegl. With the commission voting as follows: Dietz, yes; Torres, abstaining; Hawkins, yes; Hankins, yes; Swenson, absent; Kliegl, yes; and Sires, yes. No audience. Dan Stanbrough and Dave Aschoff with Stanbrough Development were present to ask the commission approval of the Plat of survey for Parcel G located at 10749 NW Polk City Dr. Chairman Hankins reminded the commission members and audience in attendance that this was not an approval of land usage, only the approval of the plat of survey was before the commission. Upon a motion by Hawkins, second by Dietz the commission voted vocally and unanimously to recommend to council the approval of the Plat of Survey for Parcel G of Stanbrough Development located at 10749 NW Polk City Dr., subject to engineers comments. Engineering Representative Connor asked the commission to go over the updated draft of Residential Zoning Districts, and to bring any questions, additions, or deletions to the December meeting. The commission further discussed PUDs and the future planning on the possibility of revising them, the commission also discussed commercial zoning.
